I moved from the PVR350 to the 1600.

I have really not acceptable audio, whether recorded or live, whether GVPR or WinTV.

Video is fine; audio pops.

This is XP Pro, all updates, on a Asus k8n-E deluxe- 1.8. RealTEc AC97 digital out (the optical jack). Not rocket grade, but should be fine/ has been fine.

Feed is through a comcast set-top box (digital to analog)with IRBlaster. Analog TV in, 16x9 not-HD out.
The PVR-350 was doing fine performance-wise, although I hadn't tested it much with the set-top adapter box, but I wanted to play with the OTA digital on the 1600. The other Tvs in the house have similar converters and their signal is fine.

I can play back large mpeg etc fine with VLC, surround and all, and if I play back a PVR recording with VLC the popping is part of the recording.

The 1600 is updated with all the current Hauppauge drivers. Word on the web forums is that Hauppauge is useless/ unresponsive these days re: card issues.

Should I just give up on this card and do a little dance on it? Or is there some tweak I can to do get it working better.

Thanks for thoughts-

Brian

no replies?

Is this card working for all? I do see some sad amazon feedback.

I could really use some ideas, even if it is just to give up if others had to do that for their own install.

thanks-

Brian

I dont personally have one, but I know there are quite a few people here using HVR-1600. I'm not aware of any significant issues with them (other than some of the early versions not doing QAM very well).
