No mute control with Guide up

Just checking to see if this is expected behavior. In Live TV, if I mute GBPVR and then enter the guide, I can't unmute it unless I exit all the way back to Live TV. Similarly, if I want to mute when the guide is up, I can't. Thanks for clarification.

many users use 'global' mute so don't notice this...[i do]
my remote maps to appcommand keys that are globally available and work at any time..
[volumes too] and i have config volume on Misc2 tab set to "master volume" tho it could be set to anything when using global vol keys..
[also if using a media keyboard with mute on it, it works globally]


on a side note, it would be great if the appcommand keys would always be available no matter what remote is set to on config tab...
[since they are on keyboards too]
right now, have to select mce remote to make them active..
volumes still work no matter what, but skip,pause,play,etc don't unless set to mce remote..
