Setting Up dual tuners

Hey, I'm trying to set up dual tuners and I'm just making sure to do it right. I flipped through the wiki page and searched the forums, but never found a way to do it.

Anyway:
I go to the Capture Sources menu.
I add 2 sources.
I configure each one.
I get EPG updates for each one.


Questions:
Is this the correct way?
Do I set both boards to #1, or do I set one to #1 and one to #2.
They are different types of cards (PVR-150 and general blackbird), does this matter?

Yes, it does matter. These devices will have different driver names, so they'll both be #1.

Yes, it does matter. These devices will have different driver names, so they'll both be #1.

Sub - am I being really thick here or have I misunderstood your post?

I understand that the 350 is #1 and Nova-t is board 1 and figured that because one was BDA and the other analogue they were the first instances of each type of device. When I added the 500, however, I assumed the sources for the two tuners should be #2 and #3 as they were the second and third analogue devices after the 350.

Are you saying that the 500 sources should be set to device #1 and #2 because they are the first and second instances of a different driver type?

If you have a PVR350 and a Nova T, these would both be setup as device #1 (because they both the first instance of their respective driver **filters names**).

The PVR150/250/350/500 all share the same driver filter names, so mixing multiple of these in one machine will require you to set the device (instance) numbers correctly.

Thanks - that's the way I've had it up to now. Every so often I get a nagging doubt though.
