I have replaced my PVR-150 with an HVR-2250 and have been unable to get any kind of live TV in GB-PVR since setting up the new card. I ran HWclear to remove all old PVR-150 drivers and apps, and have installed latest drivers for the 2250. I've set up two sources in Config, one as Card #1 and the second as card #2. My issue is I only get a black screen followed by a blue screen. My receivers are set top boxes and I do get a picture if I go through Windows Media Center(shudder) setup, so I know the card is working to some degree. Anyone gone through this mess before, any ideas?

Are you setting it up as a digital tuner, and it doesn't work in the mapping utility preview pane either?

When I first set mine up, I got no previews at all. In config>playback>mpeg-2 I changed all options where it said System Default, and Microsoft DTV-DVD decoder was an option, explicitly to the only other option I had. Under advanced codecs, I had no other option so I left it alone. After I did this, a few channels would come in at about 1/3rd normal height and scrambled looking, but the only channel that would come in correctly was PBS.

Then I switched everything explicitly to Microsoft DTV-DVD decoder and tried again. This time I discovered that half the channels marked clear qam would come in fine, but some of the channels marked as clear qam wouldn't come in, and then they would hang up the preview pane where no channels would come in.

So I changed it back to system default, and now the same clear qam channels come in. The channels that were previously corrupting the preview playback still don't come in, but no longer corrupt the preview playback.

But I am at a roadblock, because when I actually go to PVRX2 frontend, nothing happens when I press "Live TV" or "TV Guide." If I find out any more, I'll post it here too.
For parents - support GB-PVR on Dell Dimension E521 with Win 7 32bit, AMD X2 3600+, Nvidia GeForce 6150LE, 3gb RAM, HVR-2250, Egreat M34a. Personally running a MythTV rig with PVR-150 and HVR-1250.

Sub says not to use the MS DTV-DVD decoder when you do the digital channel scan. You should have gotten a Hauppauge decoder with the 2250 that should work for the scan. You can perhaps put the decoder back to MS if you wish after the digital capture sources are configured. Typically, the Hauppauge decoders will not work for DVDs as they cannot decrypt the DVD encryption of MPEG2.

Somebody else may correct this, but I think you need 2 analog capture sources and 2 digital capture sources to enable both tuners on this card for both analog and digital. Since you're in the US, you only need a MPEG2 decoder for recorded TV from the 2250. Also, leave your audio renderer at System Default.

Well for me during the channel scan and mapping, "system default" initially didn't work, nor did the other option I assume was installed by the Hauppauge driver. Microsoft DTV-DVD decoder did marginally work, but would crash on some clearqam channels. But when I reset it to "system default," channel scan and mapping finally worked normally in preview mode. My problem about the frontend not working was due to needing to delete the virtualstore folder. Now I am working through having no sound, and having no guide data.

I set up 1 digital source, and 1 analog source for testing. The analog source doesn't work at all. I was aware when I get this figured out, I need to add another digi and analog source for full use of the dual tuners.
