Bazsl Wrote:Yes, I see 4 KVOA in the guide just as I always have. Are you saying that if I select something to record on 4 KVOA I will now record the digital signal from channel 4-1 which is what I mapped to channel 4 on the QAM source?
When your try to record or watch 4 KVOA (or any other channel), it'll go through your capture source list looking for an available capture source with the requested channel. For recordings it works its way down the capture source from the top of the list. For live tv it goes the opposite way, start from the bottom of the list and works its way up the capture source list.

Quote:If that is the case, how do I handle channels 27-1, 27-2, 27-3, etc. 27-1 is the same as analog channel 6 but in digital high def. 27-2 and 27-3 are completely different programming.
You're supplying the EPG to GB-PVR, and it's up to you to map those digital channels to whatever EPG channel you want. If you map 27-3 to "SomeChannel", then whenever you watch or record "SomeChannel" then 27-3 is what'll get recored.

Quote:I also get 110-1 which is the same programming as analog channel 47 but the programs appear on 110-1 three hours earlier than they appear on 47.
As I mentioned above, its up to use to provide the listings to GB-PVR. For this specific example, you'd ideally be providing an EPG that includes listing for 110-1 (with listings three hours earlier than 47).

At the end of the day, GB-PVR doesnt supply the EPG or the mappings. You do.

Quote:Finally, how can I delete a mapping?
Either just use the drop down list to select the correct channel mapping, or untick the 'enabled' checkbox.

GBPVR uses the channel names found in the EPG source. GBPVR assigns its own channel numbers to each EPG source channel. The names and numbers in the broadcast stream are not used by GBPVR (except to assist in the process of mapping broadcast channels to EPG channels).

To illustrate, using UK channels, I have one EPG source of analog channels called BBC ONE and BBC TWO and an EPG source of digital channels called BBC TWO and BBC THREE, GBPVR would conclude that I have a total of three channels and would number them 1 and 2 and 3 (as shown on the channels tab and these channel numbers would be used on the remote).

If I wanted GBPVR to see BBC TWO digital as different from BBC TWO analog, I would have to interfere with the EPG source in some way to make sure that the names were different in each of the analog and digital sources.

My problem (or one of my problems<g>) is that there is no EPG available for the digital channels that come as part of my basic cable package. The cable company arbitrarily puts the digital channels on whatever channel they choose.

Our cable channels numbers are arbitrary but they don't move too often, and they are mostly on Schedules direct with matched numbers. The clear QAM numbers ie 27-1 can move often.

That sounds similar to my situation. How do you get the clear QAM channels into your guide?

Western Broadband. A very small company that no one has ever heard of.

I googled "Western Broadband" and found a zip code of 85248. I then used the zip code in MC2XML(Service: Microsoft Legacy) and found 2 Entries for "Western Broadband", analog and digital. Try your zip code and use "US" for country code.

Check the Wiki for info on how to use MC2XML.
