Your description is really hard to understand, but it now sounds like you're not using xmltv, but the DVB EPG instead. In that case, there was a known issue in the current release with some eastern european character sets. This is fix in the next release. Until then you might have to switch to an xmltv epg source.

I have guessed the situation is like you are saying.

I was already using XMLTV guide proxy before for MCE
( without download part, only providing DVBGUide generated EPG from stream).
After trying direct stream EPG processing in GBPVR, just returning back.

EPG Stream -> GBPVR
Bad fonts, as you have said about Eastern europian language issues

EPG Stream -> DVBGuide -> 3 EPG XMLs -> Cygwin script merging ->XMLTV.DTD UTF-8 -> GBPVR OR MCE
gives correct fonts
