Thought I'd post this for others in Scotland (or others interested in getting another HD channel that shows the occasional film not on ITV1 HD)...

T:10936,V,22000,0~TSID:2056~P:3855~V:512~VTYPE:H264~A:640~PMT:261~E:T~PCR:512~N:>STV HD

Note that the channel hasn't officially launched yet, and might not launch on Freesat properly either, although looking at the broadcast EPG data stream there *is* a placeholder in there for it, although there's no programme data for it (yet). I've just pointed it at the normal STV listings for now.

My understanding of it (from reading other forums) is that all local content or regional news will be for the Central region rather than STV North, which is what I normally receive here in Dundee.

The scan info came from DVBDream, but I had to add the ~VTYPE:H264 bit manually before the picture would appear in gbpvr. First time I've done this, so hopefully I've done it correctly.

Thanks for that - had just looked up the info from digital spy to add in myself, but now I'll just pinch your scan.cache entry :-) Have you scanned that TP? According to digital spy there's a Granada ITV HD region on there that's running at 1920 x 1080i at 10.2Mbs which is I think better than the ITV HD I have tuned in. Dunno though, BBC HD is only 1440 x 1080i at less Mbs.

I just did a quick scan of the transponder, found STV HD and went with it. I didn't pay much attention to what else was on it, because everything was listed with numbers rather than proper channel IDs. Luckily I was doing it during the (local) evening news, so it was obvious which one was STV. DVBDream actually listed it as an encrypted channel, but it displayed it fine anyway.

I'll have another look tomorrow if I've time and try to see what's what. I think I read STV was supposed to be full-res too, but I didn't check.

One advantage (for now) of STV HD is that's there's no DOG on screen during the HD broadcasts.. Saying that though, I've seen links to screen-shots of one they've been testing, so I'm sure the bloody thing will appear eventually.

Is it right that there's no AC3 sound track? Or do we have the wrong audio PID? Or have I completely spannered up adding it?!

DVBDream doesn't seem to list one. It just says the audio is mpeg2. I guess it doesn't really matter though, as although ITV1 HD is AC3 it's never more than 2.0 channels anyway.

ITV1 HD is 1440x1080. STV HD is 1920x1080. I don't know what the bitrates are though.

One problem I'm having (and it's happening in DVBDream too) is that if I change from any of my other HD channels - which are all AC3 - to STV HD (or vice versa), then I lose the audio. I have to exit to the menu and start Live TV again before it resumes. It might be something funny with my tuner, a Pinnacle 7010ix. And typically, after typing this, I've just tried it one more time and now it's not doing it. Sigh Rolleyes

Very true re DD2.0 and ITV HD. Thanks also for the logo, I'd just retuned STV so that the EPG was populated and hoped it was a direct simulcast. Assume an actual STV HD listing will appear in the radiotimes xmltv grab at some point...

The full EPG data is now being broadcast for STV HD, although I still haven't seen any announcements about it coming to Freesat officially yet. Surely the EPG data being there means it must be going to happen though.

This seems to be part of ongoing changes at ITV, here are the changes posted on KingofSat yesterday
Tried ITV HD London last night, audio was very intermittant. Video OK at 1920x1080

(18h41) Sky Digital: ITV 1 London HD (United Kingdom) broadcasts in DVB-S Clear on 10936.00MHz, pol.V SR:22000 FEC:5/6 SID:3851 PID:513[MPEG-4] /641 English.
(21h17) Sky Digital: A new channel has started in DVB-S Clear: STV HD (United Kingdom) on 10936.00MHz, pol.V SR:22000 FEC:5/6 SID:3855 PID:512[MPEG-4] /660 English.
(21h17) Sky Digital: ITV HD has left 10936.00MHz, pol.V (DVB-S SID:3855 PID:512[MPEG-4] /660English)

I found that when I set STD HD's auio ID to 660 the channel wouldn't show in GBPVR live preview mode, but when set to 640 (as per imilne's original post) it works fine. I have a few other channels that do this with kingofsat info (currently more4 being one I have an issue with). They play fine in timeshift/record mode though. I wonder how long the ITV1 London HD channel will stay in the clear as I've currently got it set as my main ITV1 HD for the WC...
