oh and technically, it isn't in "softpvr" install, only in wintv7 installer...
here's a link to one that can be extracted, unlike current version on haupp site...
http://rsteinbu.dyndns.org/files/drivers...D_1.1b.exe
extract WINTV7SETUP.EXE, and extract it to find hcw_mcmpeg2mux.ax inside, regsvr32 that and you're good to go..

it appears to be same version filter as latest,so should be as good as fresh install..
i'm sure other copies of that cd are to be found elsewhere, maybe even later versions can be exrtracted, but here's at least one on foreign soil...Smile
Enjoy

Thanks pBS,
I had trouble registering the file in Windows 7.

The fix was to go ">Start>Programs>Accessories" and *right click* "Command Prompt" and choose "run as administrator" then enter:
"regsvr32 c:\progra~1\npvr\hcw_mc~1.ax" (without quotes).

#Note: some windows shells only takes 8 character file names others require the names with spaces to be enclosed in quotes so it's a lot easier to type ~1 after the sixth character. hence "Program Files" use "progra~1" and "hcw_mc~1".
##Note: Post corrected just for Martin ;-)

No, the windows shell is not limited to 8 character file names you still even have one in your example. Likely you got your quotes mixed up

regsvr32 "c:\program files\npvr\hcw_mcmpeg2mux.ax"

and/or you are are running 64 bit

regsvr32 "c:\program files (x86)\npvr\hcw_mcmpeg2mux.ax"

While I doubt Martin needs me to bat for him, I'll just jump in and point out Martin is quite correct, and your assertion that "some windows shells only take 8 character file names" is 100% completely, totally wrong. You'd have to go all the way back to Windows 3.1 (early 1990's) before you'd find a command shell that didn't understand long filenames and paths.

Agreed - it does make a big difference.
There is no guarantee as to what the "short-name" will be - if there is a short-name at all. As seen below

Code:
C:\test>dir /x
02/09/2010  10:11    <DIR>          PROGRA~2     program files
