Using Winxp Pro, Hauppauge HVR3300 DVB-S, GB-PVR 1.4.7, with Multi record enabled.
Have tuned all channels on Optus D1 and watched them.
I then tested the multi record and was able to record TV1 and TV2 concurrently OK. Then tried to watch TV6 or TV7 (on same transponder). Received error message, "all tuners in use.." or words to that effect.
The interesting thing is I tested this scenario last week on a different PC using the Hauppauge Nova DVB-T 500 dual tuner. I disabled one tuner (removed all channels) to ensure it was recording or watching one tuner.

I will now try the DVB-T side of the HVR3300 this afternoon.

By the way I followed the wiki instructions on how to add unsupported tuner cards to get the 3300 card to be recognised.

This is because multi-record in GBPVR only related to recordings, not live tv. In this scenario the tuner is tied up with recording TV1/TV2, and is not available dedicated use for live tv.

NPVR uses multi-record for both recordings and live tv, allowing for the scenario you describe.

Thanks for prompt reply. When I tested last week I must have been watching one of the three recording channels, thinking is was a fourth. I have played with a few PVR software packages over the last few weeks and found GB-PVR to be the most user friendly and easy to set up.

Now having a look at NPVR. Thanks
