Hey there,

on my Hauppauge PVR-500 MCE I have LiveTV working, but recording doesn't seem possible. It says it's recording, which also repeats every 500s in the logs, but there's no file. Even though it claims to record to one. Not even an empty one...

Anyone got any ideas?

TIA

Was this ever resolved? was there ever anything found to be wrong? I seem to have a similar problem that I posted here:

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=5259

GBPVR says it is recording, the tray services turns green and says it is recording, the folder for the recording is created... just no file. I have my log posted in the forum link above.

Looks like some other people may be having similar (not exactly the same) problems in this thread...

I am personally running MS Windows XP MCE with a Hauppauge pvr 500. From my understanding, though, XP MCE is just WIndos XP Home with the addition of the MCE software. I have tried many re-installs, the old and new Hauppauge drivers, and even a few OS re-installs to no avail. Anybody have any other ideas?

Thx

I'm not aware of any issues. I have a PVR500 in my main "production" machine, and it seems to be working well for me.

Well, I have an old copy of plain XP Prf sitting around, and also a copy of Win 2000 sitting around, so I may try those OS's to see if it is related to XP MCE.

I have to admit that even though I own Windows Media Center, I am not impressed mostly because the performace of MCE is really bad for a "lower" end system. Hence my discovery of GBPVR. GBPVR's performance rocks compared to MCE, and is even better than I can get through a few other "free" pvr solutions. Unfortunately this does me no good if I can't get recording to work Smile Soo...

In the mean time, has anybody been successfull getting this to run on the Windos XP MCE OS? Could my symptoms (ie directory created, status says it is recoding, but no file) be related to some setting I am messing up in configuration? I don't really see how this could be since the setup seems very well laid out and simple, but I've made dumber mistakes Smile Again, anybody with any ideas?

On MCE you need to shutdown some components before your can use GB-PVR. These components hold on to the capture card resources, meaning they are unavailable for GB-PVR.
