Hi

I was wondering if there is a list of TV cards that are known to work with NPVR?

I have GBPVR now and am running a haupauge Wintv Nova T 500 MCE Dual DVB-T Tuner - PAL. I have had this for a while and it is a good card. There is no remote available for this card so I use a wireless mouse and keyboard to interface.

I want to move to NPVR.

I need to add another dual tuner DVB-T - PAL card but I would like something with a remote so other people in my house can use the TV. They can deal with a remote but not any PC interaction. It's too hard for them as a PC connected to a big screen is not a TV.

So question is what dual DVB-T tuner cards are supported by NPVR that have a remote? I like the hauppauge cards so if someone could recommend one they are using that is PAL that would be great. Otherwise what other cards are there?

Does anyone use a Compro USA card? I had one of these in the begining but it was not supported by GBPVR and I gave it away. Are they supported now and if so which one?

I don't need analogue in any flavour only DVB-T.
Thanks

No there isnt. Most digital devices work though. The safest bet is sticking with Hauppauge devices though, since you know they're widely used here, and chances are I've got that model too (I've got nearly every Hauppauge device ever made) - which helps if you encounter problems. If you want to go with some other brand, you're probably best to search the forums to see if you find comments of success/failure from other users with the same device.

If you go with a non-Hauppauge device, make sure you get one that has an MCE remote, otherwise you might struggle to get the remote working (some devices have remote's that only work with their supplied software)

Dear all,

I was actually thinking about this only the other day.

Old wiki has one:

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Hardw...reCardList

new wiki has a 'yet to do' space for one:

http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...TunerCards

if it is something that there are takers for at this stage we could start working up a list?

I would suggest starting with a thread under hardware on forum 'NextPVR supported capture cards' or some such?

This would require input from community to respond with devices that they have working and any notes etc.

I'll see what response is before implementing Big Grin

I think it would be worthwhile, at least in the short term, and especially for us UK users who might be about to dip their toes into the world of DVB-S2 for the first time...

Thanks for the reply. I'll take a look at the hauppage cards again and see which ones have a remote. I think the UK web site has the most comprehensive list of their products for anyone who is looking at these also.
