I know there is support of the colossus in NPVR 2.0.3 but I really didn't have any luck getting that working correctly with my setup. (multiple tuners + multiple brands of tuners leading to multiple entries for each channel in the guide)

Has anyone tried / does anyone know if GBPVR can support the colossus card? I had a couple of HD-PVR boxes working but one of them is currently in the process of dying (clay faces, banding, and streaking) and I wanted to replace it and the colossus looks like the better option all around.

Sorry, the old GBPVR releases will not work with a Colossus.

I'm sure we'll be able to sort that out pretty quickly if you want to post the details in the NPVR support forum. There is a couple of reasons this can happen, and a couple of ways to fix it.

Perhaps the same as me with dual HD-PVRs...

I sorted it out and it works pretty well. I think my oldest HD-PVR might be on it's way out too. I'd love to hear how you make out with the Colossus & NPVR if you give it a go as I'd probably want to replace mine with one too.

Ok

I thrashed at the npvr 2.0.3 install for 4 days (battling a number of issues some resolved, some not) in March before giving up last time. In the end I was close to getting it finished when I was faced with a guide that had 4 entries for each channel and the only way to fix it was to manually configure 3 out of my 5 tuners since the only one it offered to 'clone' was my old 150 cards. My ATI theatre 550 card and my two HD-PVR's had to be manually programmed. I didn't see enough advantage with nPVR so I rolled back.

I was planning on taking another stab at it when the next npvr version comes out. I am hoping that is before September??

In previous release if you'd had multiple copies of the same channel on different devices, then you'd have had to manually merged the channels. The release coming this weekend has a new 'auto-merge channels with same name' feature that can be used to make this a breeze.

The biggest advantage is that it's still updated and supported. There is also a stack of other stuff that NPVR does better than GBPVR, though admittedly a lot of that is digital users rather than analog.

This weekend.
