hauppauge Nova-HD-S2 and 2.1.4

It would appear that since I have up upgraded to 2.1.4 my nova-hd-s2 card will on scan a few channels, I think they maybe S2 ones.

i have attached the logs.

Are you running XP with the DVB fix installed??

If so hoborg posted a message recently about the DVB fix causing a problem with scanning which we discovered the other was the case for us.
What we ended up doing was ran the supplied runme.bat in the DVBFix directory again & allowed it to un-register the files but didn't allow it to register them again, then copied the runme.bat into Windows\System32 & ran it again this time allowing it to register the windows files (at this point we did a reboot which I don't know if it was necessary or not) after this we ran the scan again & it was fully successful this time, then ran the runme.bat in the DVBFix directory again so it could un-register the windows files & re-register the one in the DVBFix directory so NextPVR would work again with multi-tuners.

Yes I think I have installed that patch which fixes the recording service crashing issue.

So what you saying is in effect remove the patch, re scan and then re apply the patch.

Bit of a pain, but I guess it will get resolved later on.

Seems to be the issue, have run the runme.bat in windows32 and now found all channels, so will run the runme.bat back in the c:\dvbfix folder to reinstate the fix again.

I don't see this problem is ever going to resolved as it's a Microsoft problem & as far as I know development of XP is finished.

What exact steps did you end up having to do?? I'm damn sure there are unnecessary steps that I posted above in what I did (got done) while working over the phone on this problem.

Jaggy I just copied runner.bat into system32 and ran, them did the tuning and then ran the rimmed.bat in the original location
