missing channels

hello my name is mark and I've just installed npvr ( great program) problem is I am not receiving any bbc channels or ITV 1 and 2. these are received if I use Windows media Player or the supplied software with my Avermedia PCI e card. Am running Windows 7. Any help or pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated

Is this with a Freeview card and an aerial, or a satellite system? If it's a Freeview card try setting the country and region to "All" on the device configuration dialog.

If you are using terrestrial then depending on where you are in Essex you could either be pointing at Crystal Palace (south London) or Sudbury (somwhere northeast of Colcester). I'm in Chelmsford and pointing to Crystal Palace...reception is marginal but ok, if you dont know which transmitter you are using do what McBain suggests.
