If I schedule a recording on a digital channel and I'm watching another digital channel as it starts my live TV hangs. I have to use Ctrl+Alt+del to end program. The recording procceeds.
I wanted to see the status of my tuners so I set a schedule and watched live with the "status" window open. Well the recording began and live TV continued uninterupted. Thinking I had the problem licked I closed the status window. Live TV is now frozen. I'm gonna wait half an hour for the recording to finish.
I can record 3 digital programs no problem (ATI 650, Haup 2250). I've got 2.1.5 + patches.
What can I do?

Reproduce the problem and post the logs and I'll see if anything stands out.

So little info, logs really help. XP? If so do you have the BDAHotfix http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showthread.php?t=6344

As for digital in Ottawa, is that ON? I am hard pressed to find 2 shows worth recording at the same time let alone 3, but look forward to the end of the month.

I just tried to reproduce the problem but there was no issue!

Even stranger there is no NPVR icon in the taskbar after restart of sys. or recording service.

BTW: XP MCE

This is embarassing, I've had this issue for more than a week but only started chasing it the last two days. Thanks for now.

If it occurs again I'll be back with dem logs

Success! I still have the issue

This time it hung about the time the recording finished.

Do you have the BDA hotfix mentioned above? Since you're running XP this is highly likely to fix dual tuner problems.

So you started watching live tv at 22:21:36 on CBOT, Channel 25.10. Then at 22:29 it started recording The Office with a 1-minute pre-pad. All went fine until 23:01:05 when you decided to exit livetv (note that the logs do not say the recording of the Office ever finished - it says you willfully exited LiveTV at 23:01:05). At that point, it got stuck, NRecord died, and NextPVR hung, and the recording of The Office probably just kept going until 23:02:29 when you stopped NRecord altogether.

basically, this is the old 'graph won't stop' problem that has been plaguing many, including me, going all the way back to GB-PVR. the crash actually occurs outside of NRecord, in one of the windows network provider components. sub did post a patch attempting to work around the issue, you'll find it in the patch list at #24.

edit: but make sure you do have that BDA hotfix Martin posted; the graph stop problem could be just an after-effect of the XP BDA issue.
