I have forwarded your request for an ATI 550 card to ATI via post 609 in this thread at hexus.net: Hexus.net
ATI representatives have been kind enough to post there, and will hopefully respond to the request.

SHS claims on that site to have had some success running the 550 with gbpvr. Your program can fill a hugh void given the utterly horrible software that accompanies the 550 cards.

I am trying to run a 550 with my 2 150's.
