That gavingg guy *really* wanted that thing I guess. The seller must have wet himself ...

Really Brian? We're the ones asking reven to support a device he doesn't have or want, and he's been willing to spend a fair amount of his own money to get one. For all he knows his app may be unworkable on 2011 devices so it may be a total waste for him (hope not!). Besides, while reven did ask for a bit of help getting a 2011 player to test, it was another user who first brought up the idea that this effort was worth donating for so you can't claim he's been begging from the start.

Hey reven, how about this one: http://www.trademe.co.nz/electronics-pho...665726.htm
It's a BD-C5500, looks EXACTLY like my BD-D5300. I really don't know if it's a 2010 or 2011 device, I used to think that the letter before the number was the indicator, but a bit of searching around leads me to conclude that isn't always true. In any case, it is a smarthub device and does support the Plex app.

edit: this here: http://plexforsamsung.pbworks.com/w/file...erview.png says the C5500 is a 2010 player (and that my D5300 is 2011), and as of that writing the Plex app is slightly back-rev from what the 2011 and later devices are running (which of course may mean nothing other than testing is still needed, not that those devices actually can't run the latest version). So I guess it's hard to say whether getting that player would help you support 2011 devices, but it seems likely it'd get you going on both 2010 and 2011.

yeah C are 2010. "Buy must pickup" Smile. I'll keep looking for a 2011. That was always going to be my cut off year of support, 2010 is pretty old now (tech wise).

oh, I didn't notice the "Must Pickup" note... of course we yanks imagine everything in NZ is no more than 30 minutes away, but that's probably a 4 hour drive isn't it? Like me driving to Vegas to pick up a used dvd player...

aren't the 2010 and 2011 pretty similar? I've gotten the impression that the 2012 is where the bigger changes come in, and then some of the 2012's are dual-core as well. The C5500 has good reports for the Plex app: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?k...full#gid=0.
