I prefer it over the newer 6500 i have because the skip works properly on the 5900

your signature says your 5900 is an E model. I'm looking at an F model which should be theoretically more similar to your F6500.

Fry's has easy return policies, so I can always return it if it doesn't work well... just want to make sure the excercise is worth going through in the first place.

i would stay away from a 2012 model, the speed difference is huge.

yes, F are 2013. might be 2014 models out now??? havent seen or tested one though

There seem to be H models out now; Target currently has the BD-H5900 on sale for $100. I would assume that's a 2014 model (they skipped G I guess?). My son works at Target and gets 10% off, so I could get that unit for $90. That seems tempting against a refurb BD-FM59C for $60. Then again, I don't actually NEED either one, so it's actually $90 against $0...

(edit: scratch the BD-H5900, it doesn't have SmartHub (despite Target claiming it does have it). It's just got the "built-in apps for streaming" crap. All previous 5900 models had the real smarthub... I wish Samsung would keep a little more consistency in their model numbers.)
