Hello.

I am trying out the latest NextPVR v2.6.2 for my new WinTV-HVR-2250 card in my old, updated Windows XP Pro. SP3 machine. I have many newbie questions since I am having a hard time to get used to this after using DVB Viewer Pro with my very old HDTV tuner cards.

1. Where are the GUI controls in video for me to pause, skip, status, scrollbar, etc. with a mouse and keyboard since I watch on my computer and its small 19" LCD 5:4 monitor.
2. Where are the hot keys list so I can change/assign to Next PVR?
3. How do I go between fullscreen and windowed screen on the fly since I watch on my computer? DVB Viewers and WinTV lets me double click on video to change the display mode.
4. How can I tell NextPVR to keep its automatic live TV recording? I always want to delete them manually.
5. How can I find out my signal strength on the current channel?
6. Is there an easier way to reorganize/sort the scanned channel listings like they on DTVs and tuner boxes?
7. Is there an audio equalizer and picture adjuster so I can customize my setups?
8. In Live TV mode and playing recorded videos, I cannot seem to skip back, forward, etc. I can't go anywhere.

I am sure I will find more issues. I am so spoiled by DVB Viewer Pro. Sad Thank you in advance. Smile

Ah thanks some of the answers to use. Bah to RC. I am always watching on my 19" LCD monitor with TV stuff on my computer. Wink

Weird that my Live TV seems to skip around by itself with its timer (00:00:00 to 00:00:01 and back to repeat. Green scrollbar goes back and forth too.). I see the .ts recording file growing on my SATA HDD.

Hello again.

I noticed AC3Filter keeps coming up in my videos even outside of Next PVR program. It seems to have came from Next PVR installation. I don't see a way to remove/uninstall this component. Also, why is it using an older v1.51a version?

Thank you in advance. Smile

NPVR does not install any filters so it must have come from some other installation. If there is no entry for it in "Control Panel" -> "Programs and features", yoy must find the location of the actual .ax file and run C:\Windows\system32\regsvr.exe <filename> /U to unregister it.

Hmm. Hauppauge's support blames the third parties like NextPVR:

It's definitely not installed by NextPVR.

NextPVR doesn't install any decoders. It just uses decoders the user already has installed on their machines.

Just uninstall this decoder if it's causing problems.

Interesting. Where the frak did it come from? Grr. I only installed NextPVR and WinTV. Both of them say it didn't come from them! Ugh. I need to figure out where it is coming from.

I often recommend it here as it's what I use, and it's simple to download and install, no fuss no muss, so that's where some people may get the impression that it's associated with NextPVR. But it certainly doesn't come with either NextPVR nor WinTV.

(I'll acknowledge recent reports that AC3Filter may be causing some audio problems, so I'm going to be looking into other decoders for AC3).
