Multiple tuners - can NPVR merge duplicate stations?

This might be a stupid question. I had been using my PVR 2250 for OTA broadcasts, just installed an HDHR Prime with CableCard. All the local stations are available on both devices, is there a way to configure NPVR such that only one listing for the station shows up in the TV Guide and NPVR grabs the appropriate channel off the first available tuner based on priority set in devices tab?

Yes. Just tune the channels on one device, leave the other devices on zero channels. Then when u select the other devices, u will be asked whether u wish to copy over the channels from the device u tuned already.

Or if you have both tuners set up, go into the channels bit of setup and click on bulk map and then the "auto merge channels with same name" button

And if that doesen't work, you can hold down the ctrl key and select the channels with the same name, then right-click and select Merge.

to be clear, Reddwarf is talking about Settings->Channels. The last little bit, for your situation, is that whichever version of the channel you actually right-click on will be the "master" channel - the others will inherit the name and epg data from that channel (but it has no signifigance after that - all the channels will be considered equal and will be used according to tuner priority).

(as you can see from my config, I have a similar setup to you: QAM & Analog cable channels on my HVR-2250, OTA channels on my HVR-950, all merged).

Thank you all for the great replies. Mission accomplished! A note for anyone using the "auto merge", it appears to keeps (for display purposes) the lowest channel number of those with the same name.
