Sounds like your cable card is bound, or you haven't scanned in the HDHomeRun software. (probably the former)

Once you get that sorted, and that xml url is returning a detail channel list, with names etc, then a scan in NextPVR will give you the correct channel names.

What for?

What you really need to fix is outside of NextPVR. Once that is sorted, then a scan in NextPVR should give you the channel names/numbers you'd expect.

Ok thanks, I called Comcast the first guy i talked to didn't seem to know anything about this, he was transferring me to someone else, I sat on hold for a while and then they somehow disconnected me. I'll look into this later. At the moment, though, your application seems amazing. If it proves stable over the next few days I will be happy to make a donation. I'm astonished (completely blown away, really) that a single developer can put together this kind of package. Thanks again.

I'm low on Cdrive space so I tried to change the data directory. i clicked the 'edit' button to change it which didn't seem to work (i started recording a show and didn't see any video file show up on the other drive) so I googled and found a thread suggesting use a regedit to change the dir:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NPVR]
"InstallDirectory"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\NPVR"
"DataDirectory"="H:\\NPVR videos"

The registry value updated but now NPVR won't start at all. I tried starting the Windows Service, "The service terminated unexpectedly."

So i changed the last line back to
"DataDirectory"="C:\\Users\\Public\\videos"

and re-ran the regedit file, rebooted, and NVPR still won't launch. All i get is an hour glass for a couple of seconds and then - nothing.

All my settings are gone. I copied my backup db npvr.db3 into the folder but no joy. No channels, no guide data, everything's gone. Earlier today I did call comcast about 'paring' the cable card so I could automatically load channels, they had me on the phone waiting 20 minutes for them to finish 'pairing' it but nothing changed. When i run a scan in Silicon software still get the same 'Unknown Channel' listings. So i guess I have to manually map all those channels again.

You're probably best to ask on the SiliconDust forums - they're good at diagnosing what is wrong, and can tell if the card is bound correctly etc. Once you get that sorted, and have done a good scan in the SiliconDust software, it'll be easy to get those channels into NextPVR.

I have no way to know what steps you did manually, and whether your back up files correctly, or overwritten them with empty ones, but the channels etc are in npvr.db3. Other settings are in config.xml.
