Non present tuners showing on device status list

I removed one of my two AVerMedia Duet cards (dual tuner) and replaced it with a new TVS 6704 Quad tuner.

You can see in the settings that the TBS has four ATSC tuners present. The Avermedia has two present, and two that are not present. This is correct.

Under device status (from the NPVR system tray), even the non present tuners are listed: Avermedia Tuner 3 and 4. Is this by design, or a bug? Should the status at least differentiate the tuners that are not present or otherwise functioning? (I am aware I can switch them to disabled)

Another question, but regarding tuner priority. While status the device status last night, when the scheduled recordings for the night were starting, The TBS 6704 tuner 0 and an AverMedia Tuner was in use. Based on my priority settings, shouldn't the TBS 6704 tuner 0 and tuner 1 cards have been the first to be in use?

It looks like it's removed. You said you've removed one of your two AVerMedia Duet cards, leaving one still present. It has two tuners, each capable of two sources (QAM and ATSC). 2 x 2 = 4. If both had still been present, you'd have 8 listed in the Device Status. It might have been clearer if I'd put the '(QAM)' or '(ATSC)' info on that Device Status screen, like the Device->Settings screen.

Device status (except for the TBS being present) is how it displayed before one of the Avermedia tuners was removed; as four tuners. All of my QAM devices are set as disabled (whether present or not) and never show on the device status.

If device status was displaying the disabled QAM devices than the TBS Quad tuner would currently be displayed as 8 devices (4 ATSC and 4 QAM).

Ah, right. I've made a change for the next release so that this screen will only list devices that are both present and enabled.

Regarding the tuner priority. While 'looking at' the device status last night, when the scheduled recordings for the night were starting at 8pm, the TBS 6704 tuner 0 and one of the AverMedia Tuners was in use. Based on my priority settings, shouldn't the TBS 6704 tuner 0 and tuner 1 cards have been the first to be in use (rather than using any of the lower priority AveMedia tuners)?

When scheduling recordings, looking at the Settings->Device screen, it generally makes its way down the tuner list looking for the next available tuner. So if you'd had say a earlier scheduled a recording start at 8:30, it'd have made that tuner unavailable to record from 8:00-9:00.

The tuner is provisionally allocated at scheduling time (based on the order they were scheduled), but these tuners may be adjusted at recording time to accommodate padding, or tuners being used for live tv etc.
