More Control While Watching Recordings

Aren't Minimize, Resize/Full Screen Toggle, and Close standard onscreen controls in just about every Application?

Isn't an onscreen Volume control standard in every video viewing application? This is the first time I have not been able to adjust volume while watching a program, except for getting up and walking across the room to turn the knob on my receiver.

Yes "Minimize, Resize/Full Screen Toggle, and Close" are standard controls in applications. But many of us don't want to watch an application - rather a PVR. Personally I have tried to make my setup look as little like a computer as possible and as much like a set top box or even an old VCR. When I turn on my box, I see little of windows as it starts directly into NextPVR where all functions are controlled by remote control - just like the Sky box I got rid of. I have no keyboard or mouse and never see a desktop. Just the way an "appliance" should work in my opinion
