Remote control recommendation

My PVR has a Hauppauge 1609 tuner card. It came with a winky dinky remote control, that doesn't seem to work with NPVR, it didn't even seem to work with the Hauppauge software to well either. I would like a remote that works with all my other devices (TV,DVD player and Direc TV receiver more may be added later). I know Logitech has several remotes, at least one of which is suppose to be compatible with more devices then most other remotes. I do not want to buy it though without being sure it will work with my card.

Anybody have any recommendations for a good reliable remote control. For what it is worth I prefer Logitech devices ad currently have a Logitech mouse and keyboard if it happens to use the same USB receiver.

I am currently using a wireless mouse and keyboard as a remote.

According to Logitech's website their Harmony Control 350 is compatible with the Hauppauge 1609 AKA WinTV-quadHD. The question is though how compatible is it? Does anyone know?

Lots of people use Hauppauge remotes, and lots of people use MCE remotes.

Many people also use Logitech Harmony remotes, but this is a universal remote and it will be emulating another remote when controlling NPVR, so most people around here using a Logitech Harmony have it sending either the commands that a Hauppauge remote or an MCE remote sends.

I used a Logitech Harmony One (replaced by Logitech with newer model) to control NextPVR along with my TV and amplifier. Once programed it worked great. Currently use Harmony Hub for same purpose, which can be controlled with a smart phone, laptop or tablet. This setup is less reliable than the Harmony One was, but a lot more convenient. You would use the Windows PC control setting for NextPVR.
