new to gbpvr - help needed with config

i have installed gbpvr but cannot view live tv. Tv works fine though through Wintv2000 (card is a pvr250).When i try to watch live tv i get the error message "error object reference not set to an instance of an object. i have read some other posts on this forum that suggested un-checking "use live preview mode" which i have tried and then i get sound but the picture is just green and pink squares!
If anybody can help i would much appreciate it.

Are you using the drivers for the PVR250 that came on the install CD? I couldn't get my PVR250 to work with GBPVR (or any 3rd party software) until I used the drivers from:
http://www.shspvr.com/

This is nothing more then a guess, and may be worth a shot?

Note: I had to completely uninstall the old drivers first. Installing over top the existing drivers didn't work.

Go back into config, Capture Sources, hilight your source, hit edit, beside direct recording plugin, hit Settings. Make sure you have Hauppauge PVR-250 in the top box.
