Plain and simple; does or will NextPVR support DRM enabled channels?

Cox Cable recently (Aug 2021) turned on DRM for all of their extended channels (channels not available over the air or through an antenna).

Also, what would it take for NPVR to support DRM? I’m willing to pay some amount of money, if it requires some type of certification.

This thread is also open to commiserate about Cox’s recent changes.

This link you could have found with a simple forum search https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...hlight=drm cover the current state of DRM pretty well.

Here in Canada CableCard was never an option but I use 3 STB's (bought used) with capture devices and I get all channels even premium and it works out cheaper than CableCard.

I searched, multiple times, for the most simplest term “DRM” and it did not come up. Appreciate it though.

But c’mon, no classic snide response like “is the internet down?” LOL..

That link looks like from when it happened in Jan

Ok, so NPVR is not ever going to support DRM… that sucks, I love NPVR.

Not Google, just https://forums.nextpvr.com/search.php halfway down or earlier if you search by title.

Unfortunately no it does not, and we wont be able to add this in the future. The licensing and certification would cost multiple hundred thousand dollars, so just not something practically within reach of the NextPVR project.
