I am looking around the forum to see if anyone esle has had any issues with FF during video playback. If i hit FF it just stops the video and i have to restart the MVP. Once the MVP restarts the reaction time with the remote is really slow, so i usually end up restarting the GBPVR MVP Server. I am using the default skin, the latest GBPVR version (as of today). If i use the FF with the Hauppauge MVP software it works. Any ideas?

Sub, is there a particular log file i should include?

Thanks!

A televsion recording. I should probably be more specific about the remote problem, the FF (frame) works its the FF Skip and Stop buttons that are causing the chaos.

Was it one you've recorded yourself? The reason I ask, is because the timestamps in the MPEG file play quite an important role in ff/skip etc, and I've found that sometimes videos download from the net have been encoded badly and have bad timestamps in the video file.

If you've recorded the file yourself on a PVR150/250/350/500, then I'm not sure.

Yes, it was recorded from my PVR150. I am stumped as well, i guess as long as FF(frame) works i can't complain too much. Smile

When recording large files, like 2 hour movies, I record with Wintv2000 as I can record in VCD (MPEG-1). This uses about half the HD as the low quality in GBPVR. I've found that when playing these files, I can't skip forward. I never encounter this when I record in GBPVR. I view it as a tradeoff for the HD saving.

See my other thread in this forum. It seems the MVP is fussy with mpeg1 files. It doesn't recognize position info for most I've tried. It will play them, but without position info, you can't do anything but play.

Setup a profile in GBPVR to use around 1200 bps if you want to reduce the file to VCD size. It'll still be an mpeg2 file, so the MVP will work better.
