I removed all codec packs using revo uninstaller, deleted files/folders leftover, and reinstalled lav filters from their website or majorgeeks. Then, when you skip forward, the audio will pause to sync or the video will slow down or speed up to sync. It is my preference that the video change to sync with audio but have not figured out how to do that yet. I just use the default settings for everything. I believe the web based app uses different codecs so that might explain why it works better. I am running Windows 11 with latest updates, so possibly could be a little different vs Windows 10.
edit: I now use Pot Player to watch recordings (even active recordings) and audio/video sync is perfect. You must be careful not to skip forward to end on active recordings as that would cause playback issues.
