OK I thought I was getting this down, but this is a strange one for me. I'm using FFDSHOW to upsample to 1776x1000 and all is working fine except when I go to play a recorded show I get 2 instances of FFDSHOW, the normal version and FFDSHOW raw. The problem w/ this is it spikes cpu usage to 100%.
Now I know this can be fixed since I got it working once w/ the theater Pro 550 (I switched that w/ my hauppauge since the Hauppauge gets along better w/ my Nvidia. Unfortunately I decided to try an alternate build of FFDSHOW at the same time and lost my settings) The thing is the first time I got it working it took me like 3 hours of tinkering and I can't remember what I did.
Can anyone out there help me out?

(BTW I've configured FFDSHOW the same way i always have in the past, by going to codecs and selecting raw----all supported)

hi,

identical problem/question here, also have 100% cpu load if i play divx 3.11 through mvp. with the hauppauge soft (2.4.23104) same files works ok.
which is the best way to play older divx with gb-pvr/mvp? before i installed ffdshow it doesn´t play those files, but maybe another solution is better?

100% CPU usage is normal when viewing divx files on the MVP. GB-PVR will use all the available CPU to transcode the file to an MPEG video as fast as it can. Note though, it does this at low priority, so it's only using the CPU when its not already being used for something else.

Sub and all,

Looks like this is one of those MVP FAQs. I now have a password to update the Wiki, so I'll post this in the PVR section over the weekend.

PM me if there is specific wording you would like to see.

#3) PopCorn Hour.. I'm working on that one.

XBMC & 2 Hauppauge Media MVPs connecting to the server.. and a couple Terrabytes of kids shows.

i had the same problem with mpeg2-files. even if the postprocessing through ffdshow was disabled, gbpvr consumed 100% of cpu. i deinstalled ffdshow and used an older version without mpeg2-support and now it works perfect.
