Device does not start

I have had a PC running NextPVR for some time on Windows 10, things work quite nicely and TV was available to my Kodi devices. However its suddenly stopped working - possibly when I updated NextPVR.

Using the web interface to NextPVR to play a channel I get "starting device" followed by "Streaming failed (transcoder exited)". Initially some channels worked but after "diagnosing" the problem none work. Here is what I have done so far

1) checked the hw - using Mediaportal tv, all good, all channels work 
2) rescanned devices.... no chance
3) deleted all channels from NextPVR and rescanned....no change
4) updated to latest (Version: 7.0.1.241229)....no change
5) uninstalled using revo and removed all data & remnants of NextPVR
          reinstalled latest, removed superfluous devices, configured live and recording folders to known ones with lots of space
          scanned DVB-S devices (found >300 channels)
          no real change - all channels show starting device and then streaming failed

[tried with firewall off and well]

so it looks like NextPVR  can find the channels using my TV device (Blackgold) but cannot play them. I have searched the forum for similar issues and there do appear some but none look like they match and certainly nothing suggested has fixed my issue 

I have looked at the logs and nothing appears wrong (to me) - the device is accessed, locked with good quality but then things stop

In these logs I see you playing Live TV while EPG scanning which would explain several errors. Freesat scanning never finished plus Live TV failed. It takes about 2 minutes to scan both OpenTV and Freesat frequencies.

Because you have two tuners this often will work but your channel lists are not synced (or not merged) and not all channels were found on both tuners.

This frequency for Channel 4 was not found on tuner 1

so it moved to the scanning channel.

Instead of scanning both tuners, you probably should remove all the channels from the second tuner by opening it, hitting the trash can at the top right then go in again and copy when prompted.

Also if you reset channels you need to tell Kodi about the change by resetting the the PVR database in PVR Setting. This could be your problem all along. This is being addressed for Kodi Piers release probably in the next week.

Thank you for the fast reply.
I deleted all the channels from the second tuner and copied them from the first tuner. Just to make sure I rebooted and waited quite a few minutes, checked the devices were all quiet and tried to watch a random channels, it worked and so did all the other channels I tried. I also tried recording and that worked too.
I tried Kodi and that worked perfectly too, so all back to how it was

So now its stable I intend to investigate moving NextPVR to a Linux platform - I am damned if I am throwing away good h/w just because MS have stupid h/w restrictions
