gbpvr without recordingservice etc loading

not sure if this should be here or support, but here goes

is there a way to stop the recordingservice and trayicon from starting at start up? i have a install on my development machine, which is just used to develop the plugins, i dont use gbpvr on it at all but, i have to control-alt-del and kill the recording service everytime my machine is restarted, i was wondering if there is an easy way to turn this off?

Just go into the control panel and set the recording service to manual start up, and remove the link to the gbpvrtray app from your startup folder.

err where in the config? i couldnt find it in the config.xml file either

Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Computer Management -> Services

oh i thought you meant in gbpvrs config app (misread the post ).

The only down side to this is that if you exit out of GBPVR's config app, it will restart the recording service. For most cases this is what you want it to do, but not always. It would be nice if this was configurable. Default should be to start up the service and the tray icon, otherwise, if it's unchecked don't restart the recording service.

Nah, I dont want to go there. I'm sure a lot of people would turn it off, thinking its a great idea, only to have it not pick up settings etc.... resulting in more support queries for me.

You could also use installutil to uninstall the service, which would stop it being restarted.

If you set the service to disabled, the config util won't start it. It'll throw an exception when you exit, but it saves the data and won't start the service.
