I am helping a friend put together his own PVR, but when he got his PVR250 card there was no IR receiver. I am sure it is simply an IR LED and current limiting resistor molded in plastic with the mini stereo jack on the end. However I am not 100% on this and what the pin out would be. I am asking if any one in the forum has ever taken one of these apart and could identify the parts and pinout.

Or if any one has an unused hauppauge IR reveiver they would considering selling? I want to make his PVR experience a good one and from what I have seen here, this is the place to be. I will be donating to sub for the great product and for the help along the way.
Regards,
Richard

To me it seems easier to go back to the store and demand one :-D
If no one here has the answer, I think the best place to ask would be at the forums over at shspvr.com, by the way.

Good idea I'll try there.
The PVR250 card was an ebay purchase and the seller is no longer listed so I can't go back and get it from them.

RS sells a similar IR receiver . But then you'll need to resolve the emitter (blaster) part. If you're using the IR port on the card, it's looking for a receive signal, send signal, power and ground. So you'd need to run all your leads from both the emitter and receiver to a single four conductor "mini whatever" connector. Might be more trouble than it's worth. - rob
