As a complete newbie I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the following? I am having difficulty tuning into freeview channels with GBPVR with an initial installation. I have a Thomson DTI2300 settop box connected to my WinTV PVR 500MCE card via an S-Video input (and stereo inputs). I followed the installation instructions from the GBPVR website but I don't seem to be able to tune into any channels. I am unsure whether the EPG source is correct - XMLTV settings ask for a file which I can't find so I have used "bleb". Tuning assistant scans through 107 possible channels but finds nothing. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks
Chris

If you are using S-Video inputs on your 500, you are bypassing the tuners on the card - the STB is the tuner and will only output one channel at a time to the 500's S-Video input. You'll need to set the cap. source to S-Video and manually change channels on the STB with your handheld remote or get an IR blaster.

At least that's how I understand this sort of setup to work - I feed UHF into all my cards so can't advise further but there are people here who use external sources like this who should be able to help.

Cheers,
Brian

Thanks Brian, that makes sense as I can see the STB output in LiveTV (in black and white though Sad) Should I be using XMLTV or Bleb as an EPG option?

Anyone know how I could get GBPVR to recognise freeview channels so that I can access them through the GBPVR software?

Thanks in advance
Chris

If I understand your request correctly (and I may not) what I ended up doing (prior to getting two cable boxes) was use a splitter to the cable coax prior to the cablebox. I then fed one pre-cablebox feed (coax) and one post cablebox feed to my PVR500. Had to modify the sources and the channel lists but had everything running.
