I recorded a program last night under 'Custom 1' which is set for SVCD.
I went to edit out the commercials and now its doing the same thing as before when I recorded a program from WinTv and I was it was a common problem for WinTv thats why I was suggested GB-PVR.

The video which is about 2 hours long shows to about 3+gb in length. I open it in GSpot and it says it 1 hours 30 mins long - SVCD format.

But when I go to edit it and Ive tried NanoPEG and MPEG-VCR - the whole video is NOT there, only the first few minutes and when I scroll thru it to try and edit - it just all of sudden jumps to the end. I can view the video fine.

Do anyone have ANY idea why this is happening???

Thank You soooooo much Smile

Is the whole video there? Really?
Gspot's reporting of mpg is still beta, so it may not be correct.
If this is a file that has been through comclean, then you cannot use Nanopeg, because the GOP has changed (a funky thing that only allows nanopeg to work on original winTV2k files), and Womble screws up as well.
I found the only thing that seems to work for me, is to demux in PVAStrumento (link on the Hauppauge support site), and edit in Cuttermaran (then let Cuttermaran remux if you wish).
Have PVAStrumento output the .info file during demux, and Cuttermaran works much faster.
Seems there's a bug or two in the way mpgtx.exe rewrites the GOP after cutting.

Ok I'm confused, if I demux then edit - how is the audio getting edited??
And what is comclean?? And what is mpgtx.exe??
I haven't had this problem before but its doing the exact same thing as when i was using WinTv. I'm really confused and very frustrated - this was an important program and I'm sure I can't get it again.
Everything was working fine Sad
Please explain a lil more for a dummy like me to understand.

You said "I can view the video fine".
Does that mean it's all there, complete?

Ignore what I said about comclean...that's a whole 'nother topic Wink

If the video is complete, but womble has problems with it, you can have womble rewrite the GOP headers to fix it. Load the file, select Tools, GOP fixer, and see if that solves the problem.
You're working with an SVCD file (I have no idea why).
Are you trying to save space, or are you actually trying to make an svcd to burn on CDR?

Why don't you run a few test recordings between now and then?
What exactly are you trying to do?
Why SVCD?

I really can't tell you why SVCD - maybe thats my problem - I will just record in DVD on medium settings - the program tomorrow morning is not that important its just a movie that will be on again - last night was the state softball championship Sad

Do you know if it tried? I guess ir (I assume you use some sort of ir blaster to change channels) isn't perfect - even when you use a "normal" remote to switch channels on a tv or a box you might sometimes have to press the key tiwce. It's just a guess, but sometimes ir might glitch? Maybe you can see in the logs whether it did try or not?

Well I figured out why the IR wasn't working the wire came apart, I gingerly put it back together and now everything seems ok, I guess if last resort I will just have to make sure i'm on the channel i'm recording when its close to time. But I did a test yesterday and it worked just fine. Let's hope I can edit now Smile

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions.
