Hi,

I have a problem with the GBPVR and the Hauppauge PVR USB2. The quality of the reception is bad in record or live TV.
But with Wintv2000, I can record or view live TV with a good quality.

I can't understand why I have difference between this 2 software.

Thanks for your response.

Bye

Same here, is this only with the PVR USB2? and if so is there a solution/reason?

Also thanks in advance.

I can't figure this out either - I'm using the Intervideo decoder (supplied by Hauppauge) for gbpvr. Since WinTV2000 uses the same decoder it seems weird that the picture would be so much worse. Mostly it's really dark and sort of pixelated whether playing a recording or through LiveTV (LivePreview on, encoder pass-through enabled). The funny thing is that if I'm watching something and then press "stop" or "back" to exit, for a split second the picture lightens up nicely before exiting to the main menu.

Have you tried watching a gbpvr recording with WinTV2000? In my case the gbpvr recordings looked great when I did this, so it's just playback that's the problem.

One thing I've done that seems to help is to adjust the color settings of the Intervideo decoder. You can do this by opening up WinTV2000, selecting the "Prefs" button, then the "Color" tab and then adjusting the brightness, contrast, hue and saturation levels. It makes the WinTV2000 picture look like crap but your gbpvr picture will change as well. In my case I cranked up the brightness level quite a bit and the contrast level not as much. I'd say the picture is still not as good as the WinTV200 picture but definitely more watchable now. Your mileage may vary.

Good luck guys, post if you discover anything else that helps.

I have a good reception. In WinTV2000, I have a good image no problems.
This the example for GBPVR : [Image: GBPVR-bad.JPG]

Try changing your decoder setting. Also, switching between Overlay and VMR9 can help. It's sort of a trial and error thing when getting the USB2 to playback through GB-PVR. At least, that was my experience.

hmmm, tyr running the tuning assitant and using the given frequencies. This may just be slightly wrong channel frequencies in GB-PVR, whereas winTV knows the right ones.
