I am using the TV-out of my PVR-350 and noticed that the picture is too small. There is a blck bar on the top and bottom of the screen and the picture is comressed in the hight. The same is true for the OSD. When I use WinTV2000 the picture is right. I am using PAL. When I watch the recorded files on my MediaMVP the picture is also right. I am using GB-PVR 0.19 with the OSD-blinking fix.
I belive it has something to do with NTSC/PAL resolution, like sending 720x480 to the TV-out when it should be 720x576.
The same problem can be seen when I install the PVR-Driver from SHSsomething.

ANother question I have is about channel switching in LiveTV: Can I switch to a specific channel with the number buttons on the remote? Like press button 7 and switch to channel 7.
I am using the remote of my PVR-350 without the Hauppauge IR program.

Any suggestions?

PS: great program, thank you sub!

Take a look in the config.xml and change the following settings:

<PVR350Width>640</PVR350Width>
<PVR350Height>520</PVR350Height>
<PVR350OffsetX>45</PVR350OffsetX>
<PVR350OffsetY>20</PVR350OffsetY>

These settings which work well on my TV, may not be so good on yours.

You can change to a specific channel number by pressing the numbers followed by OK/Enter.

Thanks, that fixed the size, but now the OSD is off the screen. In the menu this is not a big problem, but the info when changing channels is missing 2 letters on the left side.
Is there an other parameter to scale the OSD independently?

Also thanks for the info about the buttons.

BTW: some code for handling full drives gracefully would be nice, something like minFreeSpace=500MB or so.

It sounds like you've not adjusted those settings correctly for your TV then. Go back and try again.

This is really a mechanism to set the correct bounding box for showing the Video and OSD on your TV. If your recordings have black bars as part of the video, it will not remove them. It tries to show all of the video in the rectangle you have configured.

Hmm, I set the size so the GBPVR TV-Out is the same size as when watching TV normally on the TV by setting width=720 height=576. This gives me the same picture size. I think it depends on the TV-set how much of the picture you actually see. On one set the overscan is bigger than at the other. But when I set the width and height to something smaller than the video resolution I compress the picture and lose some resolution. Setting the output to some smaller size will blend the lines and significantly reduze the sharpness of the picture. Also when thinking about how PAL works you will get wrong colors when blending lines together as the color resolution is only half of the line resolution. I had a lot of red teeth this way.
I think, the right way would be to display the video the same size as recording it (720x576 in PAL land) and scale the OSD.
