MVP Remote not working

I am having trouble getting my MVP's remote to work, I can see the LED on the front of the MVP blink when I press a button, but it wont move or select any menus.

I fould a thread on the dongle.bin, but that didnt seem to help anything.

I also tried updating the software on the MVP as well as updating GBPVR.

I cant seem to get the remote to work with the factory MVP service either.

Is it common for this to happen?

Any ideas?

Is there some way to hard reset the MVP or force a software reload?

Is there any other way to test basic functionality?

What version of the Hauppauge software are you running?

It doesnt seem to work with the MVP software either, I tried the latest and the beta, no luck.

Also, when the APP screen first loads it appears then blinks out for a sec, then re-appears.

Everything used to work fine.

Sounds like something is wrong with your MVP, or the batteries are flat in the remote.

I need to check the revision of mine to see if its got the cap in backwards, batteries in the remote are new.

not sure what else it would be.

I recommend getting it working with the Hauppauge software first, as it means there will be less variables. Have you tried having a look through the forums over at http://www.shspvr.com/smf? It may have been covered in the past.
