I had these items laying around the office and figured I could use them for this project.

My HTPC is using 2-Xeon 2.8 dual core processors

Windows 7 professional

1 gig ram (should I upgrade)

500 gig HD

PCH A100, no HD

I would like the PCH to be more responsive. (Wife)

1. Should I purchase another NMT? Which one?
2. Put a HD in the PCH?
3. Upgrade RAM?

Thanks

Responsive is subjective since mvpmcx2 loads files 7-10 seconds faster then the native firmware and the NMT is never a speed demon. Some things can't be improved on ie. Live TV tuning of 2 seconds or so is normal on a client even with an i7. FF/RW trick modes are not great over a network on most devices so NextPVR users typically use short/long skips.

Can you be more specific?

Ok make sure you skip not ff/rw most client don't skip much faster.

For the guide try using hotkeys, you can page up/down by screen, by 3 hours left/right and by days, or even by the channel number. F1 to get you back to current.

I am using the PCH remote control, would a USB keyboard work better (or even work with the PCH A100)

You can do that all with the NMT remote, a usb keyboard won't help. I don't think the wiki has been updated for nextpvr I wrote this for gbpvr http://mvpmc.epgtools.com/nmtkeys.html and they should be close

Who knows? Maybe? The sponsor of XBMC on amlogic boxes was Pivos and I have their M1/M3 models and my M3 seems similar. There are many companies selling cheap knockoffs with little or no support, hacked firmware, unknown updates etc, (even Pivos haven't stated if they will support Gotham). If you like xmbc and want cheap an m3 is marginally better than an RPi.

The key thing is running Android and running XBMC mean nothing, there are are too many variables but you do get what you pay for.
