I have a AverMedia DVB-T USB2.0 but cannot see this option under Capture Card Type in the recording source options. Does this mean I am unable to use this software?

If this devices has BDA drivers then it'll most like work by simply adding a new section to the bda.ini file. If it doesnt have BDA drivers, then it wont work with GB-PVR.

Forgive my naivity..... but if I then select BDA Recording Plugin within the Create Capture Source section, shouldn't my device tye appear in the drop-down box of the BDA Device Configuration? If not, is there a clone one I could use? Or maybe I should download BDA drivers from somewhere? Manufacturer's site?

You need to download and run graphedit and work out what you need then modify the bda.ini file in gbpvr to include your device. There are a few threads on what you need to do with graphedit around here, I can't help any futher as I haven't used graphedit too much.

GB-PVR will only look for devices it knows work with GB-PVR. The list of these is contained in the bda.ini file.
