If you're using videoredo, why bother modifiying the .vprj?
Load it into video redo, check the cut points, and you can remove totally wrong ones, or start a cut in a different place, and end it differently, and then combine it with the original cut, or replace it, or whatever. Videoredo is much more versatile that way.

If you want things automatically cut, as in the post I referred to, then you'll have to tune comskip to detect more accurately.
You can never have enough tuners!

@erik

isnt it possible to add something like a autotune function to comskip ? so if i have
a 100% working comskip txt file, i will start comskip it detects the commercials,
it looks parallel into the 'learning txt file' and tunes the ini to detect only the parts
which are in the 'learning' file ?

In theory yes but.......

There are so many different styles of broadcast.
I started by adding a very small addition where you create a .ref file that is a copy of the .txt file but with manually corrected content.
When you then rerun comskip it creates a dif file that shows the differences between current result and the perfect result.

if you want to help me to improve comskip you can zip and mail me the following files (I can receive mails up to 10MByte)
.csv (generated with output_framearray=1)
.ref (manually created so I can see what the result should have been)
.log (generated with verbose=10)

I am busy creating a USA specific comskip release that I hope will improve the USA performance. First tests are very promising.

it will include a debugwindow option that will show how comskip is "interpreting" the mpg file.
Not as beautiful as SA schoolhouse though, not enough time....

How can I tell if the cut points are correct in comskip.txt? What software are you using to open the files?

The .txt file has the start and stop frame numbers of the detected commercials.

To know if the numbers are right you can use any mpeg viewer or editor software that is capable to position on frame numbers.

Examples are
Videoredo: very good but commercial
Womble MPEG-VCR: good, if you apply on their website you seem to be able to get a key for free.
Virtualdupmpeg: slow to load (reads the whole file) but free (search in google)

Cuttermaran?

After demuxing you can use

MPEG2SCHNIT

Any others?

You need to demux to use Cuttermaran as well.
Demux using PVAStrumento (also free).
You can never have enough tuners!
