ejeffers is correct, if you need CC then you cam probably get it with the software that came with you card.

Quote:If not, does that mean that the only cards supported by GB-PVR that do closed captions are the PVR-250 and 350?
Yes.

With most cards you can use Teletext and capture teletext captioning information if you're a country that uses this.

Since closed captioning is important to you, please email Hauppauge at techsupport@hauppauge.com and request it. Every little bit helps.

We do not have anyone deaf in our family, but we are "kid deaf", meaning that we have so many frickin' kids running around the place that we cannot hear the TV. I really miss having CC on my recordings, as I went with a PVR150 and a PVR500. I really do not understand why Hauppauge has chosen to not support CC on their what is probably their most popular cards. I've owned FAR lesser quality cards that support CC, which seems more than a little backwards to me. No CC at least initially lowered my WAF (wife acceptance factor) for GBPVR. Improving the sound quality of the recording has helped a bit with that, but we'd still rather have CC.

GBPVR system info intentionally left blank because I'm personally
insulted that you can't remember it from previous signatures.
