After selecting a programme in the search menu and then selecting record, it drops back to the main menu. The programme appears to be scheduled ok.

I then see the error in the title in the log file (attached)

turning off windows firewall doesn;t make any difference.

Can you reproduce and post a complete set of logs?

I scheduled baby boom from the search menu (only as a test I hasten to add)

I'm not really sure. It looks like something was stopping communication between pvrx2 and the recording service. Some firewall or antivirus software maybe?

well nothing has been changed recently. Also, it DID manage to insert the recording into the db, presumeably it was only able to do this by sucessfully taking to the recording service?

I'll have a play around and see if I can spot anything.

No, the client inserts it itself, then just tells the recording service it needs to reload it's recording list.

I've disabled the firewall and NOD32 but no difference but then again I can;t see why these programs would permit TV listings to work but not the search plugin.

Any idea what might be different between your search plugin and alberts tv listings (which works fine)?

If I have time, I may try and roll back to an earlier version and see what happens.

Try again with the firewall disabled, and repost the logs and I'll take another look.

I'm pretty sure the logs in #1 were with the firewall disabled but here is another set.

the recordingservice log is not attached as a) the service was busy recording and 7zip complained and b) there are not entries in that log anyway for when i repro'd the problem.

Sorry, I dont know. All it looks like to me in the logs is a firewall or similar getting in the way.
