Because the elecard demultiplexer is buggy.

I've modified the next release of GB-PVR to make sure the Elecard MPEG2 demutliplexer is not used.

It doesnt help that it also installs itself as high merit filter, meaning it gets selected in preference to other (more reliable) demultiplexer filters installed on the system.

ok, so it doesnt matter what i select in the playback options he always used
the moonlight one ?

i setup now the dscaler decoder and it seems that it works again, only the
movies i recorded with the original software are hanging up, but this doesnt
matter - the rest is working now perfectly (me hope)

No, it doesnt matter which playback options you choose in GB-PVR. The elecard demultiplexer is very insistent that it is used....

That said, the elecard software installs a utility called the "components managed". Using this utility you'll be able to disable the Elecard demultiplexer. Either that, or uninstall the elecard software.
