My ASUS Pundit-R is connected via S/PDIF to SONY DAV-SC6. When I watch recorded TV shows, everything hears ok (as TV shows are in 2.0 - stereo modes, Sony receiver detects signal as PCM). When I want to watch DVD from GBPVR, it seems like GBPVR (or audio codec?) downsamples DD5.1 or DTS to 2.0 and passes this to my receiver as general stereo audio, which receiver spreads to all 5 loudspeakers using Pro Logic. So, the audio I could hear is not the same audio I hear then I put DVD directly to Sony DVD player. If I open the same DVD from InterVideo WinDVD or CyberLink PowerDVD which both has setup to send its audio output to S/PDIF the Sony receiver detects audio as DD5.1 or DTS and the sound field is the same as I put it directly to Sony player.
So, is there any solution / any comment on that how to "teach" GBPVR DVD player to passthrough its audio to S/PDIF not to mix with it?
