audio static during playback

I have an intresting problem. What is happening with me is my audio and video are good when I am watching live TV but when I playing back a recording video is good but audio is completly staticky to the point I can't hear anything except static. I am running win XP SP2 Haupauge 150. Any ideas I would greatly appreciate them.

I know I had static in my sound for some stuff then I ffshow set up only to do 16 bit interger and not botyh 16 & 32 for uncompressed audio. This may have nothing to do w/ your setup.

sub would need to say, but I think you can also have differences in the decoders used to watch and play back, so getting those the same would matter if that is the case.
