Hello all.

We were all there once. I tried to search and apologies if i could not find what i was looking for but was wondering if i could grab a little help from someone here. I am using the PVR150 on windows xp pro. I feed from my explorer 8300 box into thepvr card. ir and blaster all seem to be working perfectly well.

Couple of minor issues but seems to be going quite well.

File size. Trying to get a 30 min show between 340-350 meg. the low quality setting which seems fine has me at just over 700meg. Any help on settings? Id also like to try and force it to be 640*480 so that i can watch on my commute on my axim x51v.

Channel listings. Im in brooklyn and use time warner digital. I get my listing feed from zap2it. When i log into zap i see all the correct channels. when i import into gbpvr im missing a bundle. ie ch 105 and 109 appear but none inbetween.

a quiet CPU fan. this one is a tangent but wondered if anyone had any recommendations as my lounge sounds like a jet taking off. I have a bit of an old setup so the motherboard is a ecs k7 and the cpu is an amd1600+.

Any help most appreciated.

Cheers.

on the filesize issue your best bet will be to capture the show at a good quality then transcode it to xvid. You can achieve about 350mb/hr fileshize this way and the quality is still good.
refer to this thread for help there:

on the noise issue I just solved that problem myself. I would suggest a passive chipset heatsink ( no fan ) and a good cpu heatsink. I just got the

and the

I must say for under $50 it's made a world of difference.
My wife lets me keep it on now!
