Provided my wife does not catch me at the computer I should have another version out in a couple of days. Who knew programming could be so dangerous [Image: tounge.gif]

[Image: wink.gif] Works as advertised!

Had a few problems with 'hardware not present' after 5 or 6 channel changes, I think its related to the process' building up on the taskbar. However it works very well..

I was wondering whether the easiest way to solve the remaining problems (which seem to come from the crap WinTV FM application) might be to use a 3rd party radio app. which also supports the hauppauge and other cards. I had a quick search on Google and there are some apps. which might suit the job, i.e.  http://flesko.cz/radiator.htm

I will try it out and maybe search for some others.

I'll take a look at radiator tonight. Not sure what all the command line args are, as its all packaged in an exe. Not easy to look at on a unix box.

But it would be nice to be able to plug in whatever radio app you want. Codemonkey (i think) is also looking a implenting a radio that uses a graph with all the appropriate filters, etc. which would be a nice solution, but in the meantime this make work fine.

If you know the cmd line options for radiator and it looks like it could be usable, let me know,

Colin.

Hi,
Although it has been on my list a long time, I finally installed the radio plugin yesterday. I love it. As you know from earlier posts I had created a batchfile to start the radio, but this plugin works far better.
Issues that I came across yesterday:
-Name of the last radio station is not shown on the main screen, though it is correctly set in config.xml. Now tuned to shows the original name. Frequency is OK.
-As mentioned earlier frequent station changes cause the system to hang.
-Indeed many "zombie"icons stay in the task bar (maybe this and the previous issue are related).
-Using the remote it is counter intuitive that you can only select stations with the up and down button. If there is a 3by3 grid I'd expect to be able to jump from 1 to 4 with the right key.
-If the radio is not running saying "Radio tuned to Stop Radio" is a bit cryptic.
-Leaving the radio screen didn't always stop the radio.
-Not tested, but interesting: what happens to the radio when a due recording starts...

Is there any progress on this plugin?

Greetz, I like it.

Oops, missed that. I plan to make it as confgurable as possible in that the user can show radio station name, frequency or whatever.

I believe these are related and have not come up with a solution on how to properly tidy up the task bar. From reading on the web this is actually a fault of the radio application, its not tidying up when it closes down and this leads to confusion when more are lanuched.

I had planned to look at radiator to see if this behaved any better.

yeah, I know, its stupid, just haven't got around to sorting that bit out.

agreed.

ok, hard for me to test this as I actually do not have an FM enabled card, but i'll have a look to see of there is more than one way to exit and make sure i am attempting to stop the radio.

Absolutely no ideaSmile

Not in a while. I had hoped someone, possible OodeMonkey, was going to do a plugin using a graph rather than launch a 3rd party app.

If I can i'll look at some of the issues but I will try and at least tidy up the code and put it up if anyone is interested in playing with it.

Cheers,
Colin.
