SlimServer streaming

Hi

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck getting SlimServer MP3 streams to work?

I created a PLS file and put it in NetRadio - this then appeared in the Favourites bit of GB-PVR and clicking on it does play music. However I've found it to be very random as to which tunes it plays! The info bar at the bottom of the screen seems to list all the files that are in the current Slim playlist rather than just the one that's playing.

I've tried the same PLS file in WinAMP and it seems to work fine.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

I've only explicitly coded support for shoutcast MP3 streams.

If you set <UseWindowsMediaPlayerForNetRadio>true</UseWindowsMediaPlayerForNetRadio> in config.xml, you'll be able to play a few more types of streams.

That'll pretty much give you the most you can play with GB-PVR then.

Unfortunately .PLS files can be used for dozens of different types of media streams, and it impractical to support them all. ...maybe I would if GB-PVR was solely a music player app, but in reality its such a small part of things, I can only spend so much time on net radio.

You can also save .asx files in the net radio favourites directory.

Are there any drawbacks to setting that option in config.xml? There's a specific radio station that I would like to stream but they only support WMP.

The screen will no longer show the song name, genre etc.
