gbpvr 0.96.12 & perfomance process counter

Just did a fresh install of my GBPVR box, and did also XP updates.So I directly switch to last release but actually i'm not able to set it up correctly...

************** Débogage JIT **************
Pour activer le débogage juste-à-temps (JIT), le fichier de configuration pour cette
application ou cet ordinateur (machine.config) doit avoir la valeur
jitDebugging définie dans la section system.windows.forms.
L'application doit également être compilée avec le débogage
activé.

Par exemple :

    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

Lorsque le débogage juste-à-temps est activé, les exceptions non gérées
seront envoyées au débogueur JIT inscrit sur l'ordinateur
plutôt que d'être gérées par cette boîte de dialogue.

I cant remember the fix, but a few people have had this in the past. Its affects other .net apps too. If you google for "Performance counters disabled" you should find the fix pretty quickly.

I did check all counters and one was failling. As I was not able to find the faulty on, using the way MS documentation describes, I reinstalled all my computer once again. I've check twice all .NET updates and service pack were applied, now : it works ! Seems to me i've bypass one of those critical update on previous setup.

I have just installed GBPVR 9612 and got the same symptoms, but in English. It is a mystery to me, how on this particular system the performance counters became disabled but I fixed it by scanning the registry for all instances of the "Disable Performance Counter" keys (they had value 1) and deleting them. After a reboot all was fine.

I am sure that this was a bit of an overkill and I read that all you have to do is delete that key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\PerfProc\Performance

However there seems to have been no bad effect from deleting them all. Perhaps it is now doing some excessive "performance counting", but I can't tell.
