I apoligize if this has been brought up but I did a search and couldn't find anything about this.

I am using the latest gbpvr software with MediaMVP. I ripped a DVD and converted it to mpeg format. It plays great on the PC with sound but when I try it through the media MVP the picture is great but no sound. recorded shows work fine and have sound but just the ripped and converted DVDs have no sound.

Anyone else have this problem? am I doing something wrong?
I used dvd decrypter to decode and vob2mpg as the conversion tool.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dennis

You've missed the crucial information which is the codecs you've used.

I use the DVD rip plug in with xdvd? Works just fine.

The sound will be AC3 format which the MVP won't play (but your PC will). The xdvd plugin transcodes the audio on the fly, or alternatively demux the file and use something like Besweet to transcode the audio, then remux.

finally got around to downloading the xdvd plugin. My understanding is I rip the dvd using the dvd ripper plugin and then use the xdvd to transcode it to mpeg-2 format so the mvp can play it. Is this correct? Sorry for being so dumb with this but I am a newbie but really love this gbpvr product with it being all in one.
